I currently have the skills to teach the standards of using text features and search tools to find relevant topics, help my students publish writing (using keyboard skills), sort evidence from online sources into categories, and help them read fluently and at an understandable pace. I am not able to help the students determine main ideas and supporting details of a text read aloud from diverse media platforms because I am not familiar with any of the platforms listed. I also cannot teach my students how to clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple meaning words and phrases based on my current skills. I would use the virtual manipulatives and online lesson plans in my classroom to help my student understand certain standards that they have to know for the end of the year assessments. I learned that to keep students minds activated they need to be stimulated at school and at home. I also learned that creativity comes best when there are not a lot of boundaries or barriers so the students can think broadly without limitations. I took notes on how the different teachers bounced ideas off of each other and compared their own personal experiences. Blog Journal #5

I have only used Diigo a few times since creating an account so I am still learning how to work it. I like that I can see what my other classmates post about. I also like that I can comment on their posts so I can tell them what I like about the resources they are sharing. I have not found anything that I don't like about Diigo yet but I haven't been using it that long. I think that the blogs are very easy to do and it is fun to see my other classmates blogs. I do not like that we have to post a blog every week because they are boring. I do like that the blogger website is very user friendly so it is easy to post blogs. I have learned how to add pictures to my blogs so I can make them more fun. I think i would use Pinterest as a teaching tool that is Web 2.0 because it has a lot of cool ideas from other people that you can like and share with others.
