Blog Journal 3

I currently have the skills to teach the standards of using text features and search tools to find relevant topics, help my students publish writing (using keyboard skills), sort evidence from online sources into categories, and help them read fluently and at an understandable pace. I am not able to help the students determine main ideas and supporting details of a text read aloud from diverse media platforms because I am not familiar with any of the platforms listed. I also cannot teach my students how to clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple meaning words and phrases based on my current skills.

I would use the virtual manipulatives and online lesson plans in my classroom to help my student understand certain standards that they have to know for the end of the year assessments. Using these resources in my classroom gives me ideas for group or partner activities and experiments for the students to complete to gain a better understanding of the concepts.

I didn't really use any new skills creating my newsletter but I combined skills I already knew to format my paper in a new way than I ever had before. I would probably change the order of my articles on the first page if I had to do it again. I liked that i made the second page have 2 cut off sections for the parents to sign and cut off very easily using a dashed line. I learned that for my future classroom I will probably make newsletters similar to this every once in a while and have all the upcoming assignments on it so the students and parents can stay up to date with what their child should be working on at home.

(my computer will not let me upload my newsletter)
