On many of the teacher websites I visited the majority of them include a calendar with upcoming dates, an "About Me" page from the teacher, links to learning resources and online learning games, and their email so you can easily contact them. The website I am including a link to also has a class schedule available to the parents, a homework policy page, and a page on parent teacher conferences (but there is nothing on that page right now).

I can envision myself using technology to create a blog or a teacher web site to update my students and parents on our classroom activities. I have learned to used blogger very well so I will definitely consider using it again in the future as a teacher. I love how it is very user friendly and I think my students parents would appreciate the updates I would add to the blog.
One of the smart boards we looked at was the Promethean Board. I am familiar with this piece of technology because some of my past classrooms have had it. I like that the students are able to use the pens to write on the board and that it is easy to use. I also liked the Merge Cube that connected to the iPad. You can open the app and then hold the cube in front of the camera and pull up diagrams of the solar system or body parts so students can see them and study them.
